We would like to invite you to participate in the project of National Student Exchange called ‘Solidarity Generation’.

The project is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the NSZZ ‘Solidarność’ Independent Self-governing Trade Union „Solidarity”) and will take place from 11-16 October in Poland.

  • For more specific information about ‘Solidarity Generation’ is here

All extra questions can be send to: pokoleniesolidarnosci@projektpolska.pl.

Are you interested in past but also in the future?

  • Would you like to discover in an unique way the newest history of Europe and Poland?
  • To meet the people that stopped communism and changed the shape of our continent?
  • To confront the voices from the East and the West?

If yes, we are inviting you to join international meetings of youth on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of “Solidarnośd” movement.

“Solidarity Generation” will gather in Poland around 200 young people who will take part in workshops, lectures, meetings with onlookers of the most significant events. The participants will discover the social movement that defeated communism inside out- by talking to its legendary leaders and visiting the most symbolic places, by confronting the past and the present. They will use this experience in the discussion about the future, about the space for Solidarity in modern Europe. Moreover, “Solidarity Generation” is an excellent opportunity to explore Poland. The cultural program will be one of the pillars of the project.

The project will be run simultaneously in 10 regions. The participants divided in 10 groups will be working in different spots all around the country, from Poznao in the West to Lublin in the East and from Szczecin in the North to Cracow in the South. The group will be chosen randomly for each participant. Eventually, everyone – 200 young people – will gather in Gdansk. The whole project will happen between 11th and 16th October 2010 (in Kraków from to 10th October).

Each group will be composed of 10 Poles and 10 foreigners, keeping the national diversity and the balance between the West and the East. The participants should be 18-30 year old.
The participation in the project is free (accommodation, food, local transport, entrances, cultural program)! Organizers will reimburse 70% of the travel costs up to 500 PLN.

More information about the project and the application form can be found in www.1980-2010.eu.
